Our Hatha classes are designed to bring back balance in the body and mind helping you to find more clarity in your life. Attending these classes at least 3 times per week will help to release built up tension and help make you feel better in your own skin. These classes will give you everything that a great Yoga class offers. Strength, flexibility and balance and designed to help you feel more centred and calm when you leave. The teacher will focus on different breathing techniques to help you relax, correct alignment to help with less stress on your joints. These classes will give you a solid foundation. Props such as bolsters, blocks, and straps can be used to help modify the postures so that you receive the most benefits from the class. Our rooms are quiet and spacious. You will feel more peaceful as soon as you enter the room.
If it's your 1st class It’s not unusual to feel a little awkward but stick with it! Listen, be kind to your body and if you have any questions feel free to ask your teacher after class.
For anyone wanting to spend an hour of deep relaxation. Walk in the room, lie on your mat and feel that tension melt away. Restorative/Yin Yoga is designed to release stress and tension from the body, calm the mind and renew the spirit. If you are new to yoga and need a relaxing start to move the body this is a good place to start. Yin is also good for athletes who want to hold stretches longer and take tension out of body.
We recommend that you dress in light stretchy clothing, bring a towel, water and come 15 minutes earlier if it is your first.

Dave and Sue have worked with Victor Chng. Victors is a very well known teacher who's teaching takes a slightly different approach which includes the ancient Chinese philosophies to tradition yin yoga, By stimulating energy lines in the body, this fusion of movements goes beyond the muscular-skeletal level to cultivate energy instead of depleting the body. This style of Yin adheres to three foundational principles of Yin Yoga. Grounding, Holding and relaxation.
This class will strengthen your lower body, open your hips and free up the tight upper body.
This is also a great class for cyclist and runners, a great way to start the weekend.
One on One Sessions
Ideal for athletes or if you have an injury. One-on-One sessions are available if you prefer a more personal experience, or dealing with injuries or other special needs. These classes allow the teacher to spend one-on-one time on alignment challenges specific to the students and share useful information that can achieve results alot quicker than attending group classes. Community Classes - $10 Donation Class
Touched by bladder Cancer 2 days after Tayah’s 20th birthday and 12 months later was diagnosed with a chronic blood cancer we all knew that life would never be the same. Life is uncertain for all of us, but those with a cancer diagnosis have a heightened awareness of that uncertainty. Cancer lays bare your vulnerability and underlines the uncertainty of life.
My experience of feeling helpless as Tayah’s Mother watching her go through months of chemo treatments, several cystoscopy’s and countless blood tests drives my motivation behind helping other families in similar circumstances.
Financial burden on families is another factor why we chose The Mackay Hospital foundation as our charity of choice for our community established in October 2010 under the provisions of the Hospitals Foundations Act 2018.
Government funding provides essential health services but it cannot pay for everything. The Foundation’s role is to fill the gap; to provide those extras that will help patients to receive the finest health care possible and support hospital staff, to have the best working environment to provide it.
Our donation classes are on every Friday at 4.15pm. Price $10 (normal class rate is $20) but knowing 100% of your donation will go to help our community.
