BEGINNERS YOGA COURSE

At 8 Limb, Yoga is not a technique, religion or about touching your toes. Yoga is not about being flexible or strong, yoga is not about perfecting a pose or eating meat-free meat.

  • Yoga is being who you are now, even if that doesn’t look perfect

Have you always wanted to try yoga but felt nervous or a bit bewildered about how to start? Kick-off the new year in style and come join our beginners' course. Here you can learn the foundations of the practice in a safe and comfortable environment.

We will go through the basic elements of the practice including;

  • Philosophy, history, and types of yoga

  • Ayurveda overview and tips

  • The importance of the breath

  • Core Asana postures, Sun salutations, standing, seated and basic back bends

This course will give you the confidence and techniques to launch your yoga path and join the group classes

The course will take place over either 2 or 3 weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (A total of 4 or 6 x 1.15 hr sessions), practicing 2 -3 times a week helps to fully integrate yoga into your life and feel the true benefits of the practice.

Bookings: You can sign up for this course either online or through our app. As soon as you purchase this course you will be secured a spot both classes over the week period. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before our first session.

 

Bring a large towel and water bottle for all our classes. Wear something light, comfortable and fitted (not baggy). Singlets, leggings and normal gym wear will suffice. What is important is for you to feel comfortable moving without clothing disrupting your practice.

 

Mats will be provided for your classes. After this hire mats are $3 or you can purchase a mat from our store.

 

Shower facilities and storage areas are available

 

Talk to us regarding any concerns or injuries you may have, our teachers are chosen for their experience and their goal is to help you enjoy and grow in your practice.

 

Not flexible? Then this course is for you! People from all walks of life and in very different physical conditions join our classes. Increased flexibility is a lovely side effect of a regular practice, not a prerequisite! The practice of yoga encompasses many aspects of your body/mind/spirit. Come with an open mind and practice a few classes without judgment, after this you will see what its about.

 

Come well hydrated and on an empty stomach. If you are hungry in the 2 hours before class have a light snack, in time you will know what works best for you
